The Exorcist - William Peter Blatty

Image
The Exorcist - William Peter Blatty Thrilling and splendid. You will finish this novel in one sitting, I did. It is so captivating that you just can't put it down. We all saw the movie and it was great yet scary but this novel it above and beyond, it really plays with your mind. It makes you think that maybe just maybe she does just have a mental illness. It shows how easy a possession can be misdiagnosed as a mental illness and visa versa. This is really one of those novels that stays with you. Very unnerving.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Part 1 & 2 - J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany & Jack Thorne

Image
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Part 1 & 2 - J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany & Jack Thorne Absorbing, Delightful and Spectacular! The eighth story, nineteen years later. A past that refuse to stay where it belongs,a family legacy that is too heavy of a burden. Harry Potter and the cursed child continues with the wondrous magical world that we all know and live. We all grew up with these characters and whether we are Griffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin we were part of the Hogwarts experience.   There are plenty of familiar faces - Harry, Ginny, Ron, Hermione and Draco, there are also some that returns as the past changes - Dumbledore, Snape and Voldemort. Also some new comers to this story - Albus and Scorpius (both playing a big part in the changes.) Most people saw this story as Fanfiction since J.K.Rowling never wrote it, it is still like coming home and very enjoyable. It is a fast moving plot and the main theme of the plot is time travel thanks to a Time T...

The Darkest Minds & Never Fade - Alexandra Bracken

Image
The Darkest Minds - Alexandra Bracken Excellent! What an exceptional read. The characters are enjoyable, courageous and entertaining. Such a heartbreaking ending yet so meaningful. This story have a little bit of everything in it and I would recommend it to everyone, young and old. It shows how heartless people can be and yet how not everyone is alike. How power can change people, some for good and others for worse. How people can corrupt innocent children and treat them like a disease and yet they can get away with it You really root for these characters from the beginning. I really did enjoy this novel a lot. It is a treasure. Never Fade - Alexandra Bracken Oh how I absolutely adore this novel. It shows how love can have a lingering feeling in your heart and makes you appreciate the connection between Ruby and Liam. Here is a few twists and turn that will make you gasp and then a happy and also a horrible ending, such a sad one. Very action packed and a few characters to a...

Delirium, Pandemonium & Requiem - Lauren Oliver

Image
Delirium - Lauren Oliver An impressive story with a great storyline. You really fall in love with these two main characters and really start to hate others. It is a story about forbidden love with a true heart-wrenching ending. It shows you the terrible and wonderful side of young forbidden love and it shows you an eerie side to a love less world and how dreadful it can become  to have your feelings taken away from you. It was a pleasant adventurous read with a wretched ending that will make you reach for book 2 faster than you can blink. Pandemonium - Lauren Oliver Wow, what a story... You start to except the ending of Delirium and move on with Lena to a new world anf way of living just to be thrown for a loop at the ending that leaves to breathless and ecstatic at the same time. The adventure continues in this great novel... Requiem - Lauren Oliver What a disappointment! I don't  want to sound mean but this book was rotten. The characters that you love and e...

Mr. Mercedes - Stephen King

Image
Stephen king - Mr. Mercedes Wow... what a thrilling story! It sure makes you look at people differently and much more cautiously. It shows also not to judge a person by their appearance, since the normal man can be a psychotic killer and the nervouse nutcase woman can be a very valuable member to yor case and a potential friend. This book had its disturbing parts but it was truly a great novel. Not only to you get to explore the Det. POV but also the killer's POV. Most definitely a great cat-and-mouse story... A must read not only for Stephen King fans but also to anyone who loves a good detective/thriller & psychology thriller story. Brilliantly written with a compelling story line.

The Tales Of Beedle The Bard - J.K. Rowling

Image
The Tales Of Beedle The Bard - J.K. Rowling I loved it! It was short and sweet with Professor Dumbledore's Notes. It takes you back to the whole Harry Potter world. It truly is a cute book worth the read for any HP fan and even great as bedtime stories... I love the whole diverse fairy tales with all the magic and delight and even with morals implied... There is five magical short/bedtime stories for all to enjoy... With the famous The Tale Of The Three Brothers also in this little treasure. Every HP fan will know that bedtime story for it is a big part in the last novel in the HP Franchise... *The Elder Wand *The Necromancy Stone          & *The Invisibility Cloak

The Woman in Black - Susan Hill

Image
The Wo man in Black - Susan Hill We have all seen the movie but this novel goes deeper and with a completely different ending and in-betweens... It is chilling and heartbreaking and a ghost story. Eel Marsh House, salt marshes, Nine Lives Causeway, Arthur Kipps, the woman in black, a mystery and ghostly noices and happenings. It will give you a chill down your spine 👻

Broken Monsters - Lauren Beukes

Image
Broken Monsters - La uren Beukes I read this novel a while back and I have to say that it is not what I expected! It was great. Not only the element of murder and mystery but also a hint of the supernatural... You start reading it and start thinking and then get hit with something completely different and great. A very compelling read. Well done Lauren So what is this novel about? In a broken city, a disturbed killer is trying to remake the world in his image. A dark and gripping thriller about the death of the American Dream, online fame, creativity, compromise and the undercurrents of the world we live in right now.

Oenone - Agatha Rae

Image
Oenone - Agatha Rae So what would you do if your wish could come true but with a sick/deadly twist? Most people would say "No thank you" but then again what if you were not told that little twisted price? This novel is all about Be careful what you wish for. This is like a Greek version of a Genie. You get a wish granted but of course it almost always have a deadly twist... The gorgeous Agatha Rae shows here that you can not label her in just one genre. She sure have the talent to spread it over not one or two but so far three different genres. What a great job she did at it. This novel have romance, heartbreak, drama and a Greek Nymph! Such an amazing storyline and writing.

Joyland - Stephen King

Image
Joyland - Stephen King  Splendid & Mysterious One of the best mystery novels out there... King writes this story as one will tell you a story, with bits of future information about people in it or stepping of the story for a moment or so and relive another memory.  And who is the killer? You won't believe it and of course you expected just about everyone...

Naomi's Room

Image
Naomi's Room - Jonathan Aycliffe  This novel is creepy, it even had me sleeping with my bedside lamp on one night... And that is what you want with a ghost/horror story. It have quite a few twists and turns in it and a great ending but not really an ending gou would expect,  yet another thing you want. It was really one of those books that you just want/have to read. The more you turn the pages the more twists you get. If you want a scary ghost story then this is for you. I have to say that the part where Naomi dies is heartbreaking. Exceptionally written, you experience all the emotions

Ideas and Inspiration for Fantasy and Science Fiction writers - James Hutchings

Revival - Stephen King

Image
Revival - Stephen King "This is how we bring about our own damnation, you know - by ignoring the voice that begs us to stop. To stop while there's still time." - Jamie Morton, Revival Exceptional & Outstanding. Everyone you meet, you meet for a reason and sometimes they are not good. This book strech the boundaries of afterlife and digs into De Vermis Mysteriis & Potestas Magnum Universum. This novel is great and easy to read and keeps you turning the pages... the characters are so real and yet completely different from each other. Charlie took him hobby and turned it into an obsession and stepped over the law of life... How something can look great but turns ugly with a price to pay at the end... I was certainly hooked on this book, it is geniuse and shows that you can't put Mr. King in a single genre and that he knows how to go far beyond the border where most would draw the line. All the clues to the end are there, everywhere in the novel you just ha...

A Change Of Heart - Mark Benjamin

Image
Wow. Unexpected. .. I was expecting something like a spin-off to Twilight cross with The Vampire Diaries , thank heaven it is not, it was actually really good and very captivating... It is just really good. It keeps you wanting more and the way it is written is excellent, not only do you get to see the POV from every but also how they merge to come together. I was pleasantly surprised at this book. It was really very enjoyable. I would most definitely recommend this book to everyone. I love it.

Nicholas Sparks - Safe Haven

Image
Safe Haven - Nicholas Sparks Wow... This is a truly beautiful story. This is one of those nivels where if you want to reflect on love and what is important, then read it or re-read it. I am for sure going to read this novel a few more times. The letter Jo wrote to Katie brought tears to my eyes, so sad and yet so beautiful and touching. Nicholas Sparks are truly gifted in the art of writing and knows how to capture your heart and feelings... He is my favourite romance/drama writer. The novel and movie are completely different in nust about 98% of it... Yet both are exceptionally good 💌🎡

Ugly Love - Colleen Hoover

Image
Ugly Love - Colleen Hoover This is my favourite Colleen Hoover novel... This novel has everything a romance novel needs... It broke my heart to found out what happened to Miles Archer  in his pass but the novel do have a fair amount of funny happenings in it. I was enchanted with this novel and read it in one aftetnoon. This novel is witty, delightful, touching and an absolute must read! This is one of my favourite romance novels and the song Ugly Love by Griffin Peterson is one of my favourite new song... 💔

What A Girl Wants - Lindsey Kelk

Image
What a girl wants - Lindsey Kelk This novel was entertaining, amusing, blissful and a bit sad in the end. Actually heartbreaking but overall one of the best romance novels. Tess is most definitely one of the best female main characters out there, not only is she fun, funny and a bit crazy. Let's not forget Nick Miller, still the charming, sweet, asshole (what more can a girl want). There is so much fun drama I  this novel, I actually laughed out loud a few times. The novel took all the great fun and funny turns. The heartbreak left me sad. I don't know if I review could do it any justice but I most definitely would refer it to everyone and anyone. This is a great, fun and funny sequel to a great funny first novel 📷

Maybe Someday - Colleen Hoover

Image
Maybe Someday - Colleen Hoover This was my first Colleen Hoover novel and most definitely not my last, also my very first audio book I listened. May I just say that Zachary Webber truly have an appealing husky smoky voice. This is such a moving story about love, sacrifice and loyalty.  There is really not much to say other than it is one of the best love stories out there, it is a really moving story that would just leave you speechless and wanting more. I absolutely loved this novel and Colleen Hoover. Outstanding writing and a brilliant story 🎼

How To Survive A Horror Movie - Seth Grahame Smith

Image
How to survive a horror movie - Seth Grahame Smith I absolutely love this book! A reread for sure. This book is so funny and yet insightful. Seth brings all the classic horror/slasher movies in and gives great advice. A must read for all horror/slashers fans out there. I think the "An apology from Wes Craven" is great. I mist say I enjoyed the part about possessed dolls (chucky) hilarious. This is by far one of my favorite books. I would definitely recommend it to everyone, not just horror/slasher fans. It is so enjoyable that you can read it in one sitting.  This is a book for any occasion or mopd that you are in. Do yourself a huge favour and go get this ASAP :)

About A Girl - Lindsey Kelk

Image
About A Girl - Lindsey Kelk looove this novel! I originally picked it up for the career she, Tess, followed,  photography.  But this novel has it all, crazy actions and gorgeous men or rather just one hunky Nick. I love the tension that build between them and the way Nick act. The fact that Tess just stole her flatmates identity and job and jetted off to Hawaii. This is by far the best British RomCom I have read. It is funny, crazy, whirlwind, fun, a bit steamy (not too much) and great characters. The characters is great, relatable and fun. Most definitely a read for and woman. But be warned that you most likely will fall in love with Nick Miller. 🍸

Stephen King - Night Shift

Image
Stephen King - Night Shift This is by far my favorite short story collection by the master. I love how there is even a story about Salem's Lot after it burned down and before the novel story as well,  and let us not forget Boogeyman,  that is a story that stays with you. I'm sure it will give most people nightmares,  luckly I grew up with Stephen King movies in my life. Mr. King shows just that he is not just one of the best in horror but also one of the best in short story writing. This is such a great novel with bone chilling and page turning stories. ❤

Bazaar Of Bad Dreams - Stephen King

Image
Bazaar Of Bad Dreams - Stephen King What a great collection of short stories.  From Bad Little Kid to Under The Weather to sad story of Summer Thunder. I love the short little "introduction" he gives before every story... They truly are the work of imagination from a genius of writing.  There is no surprise that I love Stephen King and he sure knows how to keep his fans happy and satisfied.  The one Author I never have any trouble to spend money on because you know that you are going to get ypur money's worth in his stories...

Agatha Rae - The Garden

Image
The Garden - Agatha Rae Delightful! Enjoyable! Sensational! This was really a great novella if you need a pick-me-up. It is really a wonderful story with a delightful storyline.  It was one of those romance stories you could read anywhere and everywhere,  no matter where you are, what time or season it is. The way love finds you in the last place you expect and how if it is ment to be it will be. I am a true romantic at heart and I just fell in love with this novella and I will be definitely reading it again and again. It is a little fairytale wrapped in the real world. How can you not love a romance that have a main character Stephen King fan and a Redrum bar ;)

Beautiful Disaster - Jamie McGuire

Image
Beautiful Disaster - Jamie McGuire I enjoyed this novel a lot. Yes I do have a thing for bad boys and Travis fits that category.  I finished this book in one day, was not all light and fun, there are some intense and strong moments. It is really underneath all that violence and roughness a romance like all other. Boy meets girl, boy screws up, girl leave boy, boy is sorry, girl do not forgive him, boy tries to move on, girl realise she loves boy, boy and girl get back together.  But it have a twist and turn here and there.  I love romance and I enjoyed this book. It is more than just a teenage romance... The two MC don't just sleep together on the first night and fall in love with each other,  they build trust and over a long period of time and in the end it was the trust that had a crack and it was trust and love for each other in the end that made them as a couple possible. I think every girl wants a Travis, I know that I won't mind one ;)

Endometriosis Operation

Image
Endometriosis Operation My operation went well yesterday.  My dr also did a Biopsy on my Endo that went rogue (to see if there is something to it). I just have to recover now, nothing that painkillers can't help with :)

A Midsummer's Nightmare - Kody Keplinger

Image
A Midsummer's Nightmare - Kody Keplinger This was really a non-thinking novel. One you can read in one sitting and you have to do no thinking.  Easy to follow and you just keep on going. There was a few funny moments,  guess every girl would love to have a Nathan.  Also shows not to judge a book by its cover, what people say about others are not always true and a photo can easily be manipulate, so don't judge until you know the true story.  I truly felt bad for Whitly and can see how she made those decision that she did, not good ones but still easy to see why. I really thought this book shows a lot more than just a girl looking to escape and find a good time. Takes you back your teenage years... I liked this book.

K.A. Harrington / Kim Harrington - Forget Me

Image
Forget Me - K. A. Harrington / Kim Harrington This to me was more of a mystery than a thriller. The fact that this is her first ever thriller novel it was really good. There were moments that made you smile/laugh and other moments that would make you tear up. The plot was really terrific although I think the part where the true came out and Morgan had to act, was a bit dry and not really that great, K. A. Harrington could have made it more action (where nobody walked away unscathed). But over all it was captivating and you flip through the pages fast. It keeps your attention.

The Belt - Agatha Rae

Image
The Belt - Agatha Rae This novella is unlike anything I have ever read (in a good way).  If ends with an open ending, I like that, it leaves space for the reader to expand their imagination and keeps the story going. Agatha makes you live through the nightmare with John and you kinda start thinking what you would do if you were in his position. It shows that if you have a conscious, and you are a horrible person, it will catch up with yoe eventually. It was a nice easy read.

Author Agatha Rae Interview

Image
Author Agatha Rae Interview 1. So let's start from the beginning,  how did you get into writing?  AR: I have always liked writing and creating stories. It  has always seemed natural and quite efortless to come up with ideas for short stories, or novellas. It has never been any concrete decision, I am just lucky enough that, first of all, Danielle Zwissler found me and gave me a chance to spread my wings a bit with Firefly and Wisp Books and, secondly, that there are people who like reading what I come up with.  2. Did you always wanted to be a writer/author?   AR: No, it hasn never been any particular plan :)  3. How did your idea for your first novel start? AR:  My first novel, "Oenone" is a romance/drama story with some supernatural sprinkle. The very first thought of creating a book concerning a supernatural being came to my mind when I was watching a program on television showing fortune-tellers. People would call them, talk to them ab...

Tangents Vol 1 - Agatha Rae

Image
Tangents Vol 1 - Agatha Rae I was contacted by the lovely @agatha_rae_author (instagram) and got lucky in reviewing one of her novels. I have to say that this book is truly compelling.  It is a drama within a mystery. It grabs your attention and keeps you turning the pages. The story line is great but keeps you guessing. I love how they all have flash backs and you get to know them and how they ended up in this mystery.  It starts you off in the beginning of the mystery and you get to experience the unfolding of it all.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - J.K. Rowling

Image
Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone - J.K. Rowling Wondrous! Spectacular! What a great world of the wizards. This has everything you need, magic, monsters, adventure, danger and friendship.  The unlikeliest people makes the truest friends.  Such a fun and marvelous read. I liked the way Rowling introduced each character and it was fun learning with them and getting to know them all.

Alice In Wonderland - Lewis Carroll

Image
Alice in Wonderland Very enjoyable. A Wonderland for sure.  Unique characters,  with a big diversity.  Truly what young and old can and will enjoy. An easy read with enjoyable moments and a great experience. Transport you to a Wonderland full of wonder :) And the Tim Burton movie with Johnny Depp in is just as great. Just how I imagend Wonderland would be.

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz - L. Frank Baum

Image
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz What a great little book. Such a marvellous story about friendship, danger, adventure and magic. Poor Dorothy is a strong girl with a good heart.  Truly a happy ending in the end for all. Goes to show that is you truly believe then you already have what it takes. This ia a story for young and old. Age is only a number and this story do not judge it is a classic. Everyone should dip their toes into Wonderful World of Oz :)
